This study assesses the relationship between sports betting and viewership of English Premiership. This study adopted the descriptive survey research design. The study population constituted respondents in bet9ja outlets in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. In this study, the researcher randomly selected 456 participant from bet9ja outlets in the city. This study made use of questionnaire as the main research instrument. The method of data analysis was a combination of descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the study showed that Manchester United and Chelsea FC are the major club sides supported by the respondents. Also, respondents often get access to sports news and information through the viewership. Most of the respondents regularly viewed the English Premiership in Betting centers. Hypothesis test revealed that the coefficient of determination (R2) of 9% showed that Sports betting shaped perception of viewership. The F-ratio (15.22) was significant indicating thereby the good fit of the regression model. Except for Sport news increased sports betting and viewership, other variable were positively significant. (p ≤ 0.05) was recorded for both Sports betting shaped perception of viewership and Football matches influence sport betting choice. The study therefore recommended that Betting outlets should be active and should always air live matches.
